Governor Vetoes Warehouse Worker Protection Act - with Leadership from the Illinois Chamber

Governor Pritzker vetoed HB 2547, which would establish the Warehouse Worker Protection Act. We applaud the Governor's action on this bill, and appreciate his recognition of the numerous challenges and operational burdens it presented to the business community.

After news of the veto, President & CEO Sandoval issued the following comment.

"Governor Pritzker vetoed HB 2547 today, a bill that required warehouse employers to disclose quotas to workers upon hire. The Illinois Chamber testified that the legislation presented legal and operational issues, including inconsistencies in due process, civil penalties, and damages. We thank the governor for listening to the business community on this bill."

The Illinois Chamber strongly opposed this legislation in the 103rd GA and worked against its passage. Earlier this year, the Illinois Chamber submitted a veto request letter to the Governor which you can read here.
