Illinois Chamber joins coalition of business Associations Calling on Boeing and Machinist Union to Come to Agreement on Contract

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce joined over 50 State Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations across the country requesting that Boeing and the machinists union reach an agreement on a contract. This comes in addition to individual advocacy outreach that the Illinois Chamber did directly with Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg and IAM District Presidents Jon Holden and Brandon Bryant. The labor impasse is creating significant economic turmoil by the week as both sides have not reached an agreement. Suppliers and production lines for Boeing are being sidelined with catastrophic impacts that should be rectified by both sides. The strike impacts 33,000 workers in Oregon, Washington, and California, with a cost to the manufacturer of $1 Billion per month.
