(The Center Square) – As national output declined for the second quarter in a row, concerns of a recession rekindle.
The U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) fell at an annual rate of 0.9% from April through June this year, pushed by high inflation as consumers cut back. Its was the second consecutive quarter of negative GDP growth in the U.S.
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce announced its 2022 Annual Meeting which will take place on October 6 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. This year's theme is Future of Energy and Impact on Illinois: Actions by the Federal Reserve.
Turner, who served as the Logan County Clerk and Recorder for many years, said she is honored with the award.
“I am humbled to be named the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Freshman of the Year’ for my commitment to supporting policies that strengthen our economy and create jobs,” said Turner.
