One of many ways employers protect their interests is through the use of employee agreements, including confidentiality, non-competition, and severance agreements. Employee handbooks, while distinct from employee agreements, also provide protection for employers. These agreements and handbooks involve important federal, state, and local laws that affect an employer’s ability to protect itself and manage litigation risk. This in-person seminar will highlight issues to consider when drafting and implementing employee agreements, acknowledgments, handbooks, and notices—from arbitration provisions in severance agreements to Biometric Information and Privacy Act disclosures.
