International Business Council

Exports represent the single fastest-growing segment of the Illinois economy and are essential to the future economic health of our state. Today, many Illinois businesses actively participate in the global economy and more can do the same. Expanding our global markets is critical to tomorrow’s success.

The Illinois Chamber believes Illinois needs a coordinated, collaborative, statewide effort to help more Illinois employers become successful global traders. To lead this effort, the Illinois Chamber International Business Council will maximize the resources and capabilities of Illinois employers to take advantage of international business opportunities.

Objectives:

-increase global trading opportunities for Illinois companies

-create a “soft-landing” for foreign direct investment

-advocate for pro-trade policies in Springfield and Washington, DC
