Description: Attempts to copy some chemical disclosure and other select provisions from Wyoming regulations.  However, in an attempt to mold it into Illinois’ law and make it acceptable to the industry, it has turned into a very vague, convoluted bill.

Bill: HB4113 Toxic Chemical Safety Act

Description: Requires the IEPA to publish a list of chemicals of high concern and designate those as priority chemicals.  Manufacturers and distributors of children’s products that contain those designated chemicals to provide that information to the IEPA.  The Director of the IEPA may then prohibit the sale and distribution of those products containing a propriety chemical.

Bill: SB3672 Air Regulation Standards

Description: Expands existing rulemaking authority that is currently used at the state level to adopt federal land regulations to a very narrow set of air regulations: ambient air quality regulations.  When the U.S. EPA adopts certain federal regulations, the IL Pollution Control Board uses a streamlined process to adopt those same standards at the state level.  This is a Chamber initiative.
