Private sector employers of all sizes, shapes and industries (particularly those in healthcare, construction, manufacturing, distribution and hospitality) should be equally ready to combat the growing onslaught of union activity. For employers who wish to remain union-free, they must understand key labor law developments that continue to impact management’s ability to maintain a union-free work environment. With the
imminent return of the NLRB’s “Ambush Election” rules that will dramatically lessen the time for employers to respond to a formal union petition together with the DOL’s attempt to gag an employer’s ability to effectively seek advice and counsel when responding to union activity through its proposed “Persuader Rule”, employers need to proactively manage the threat of union organizing today.

In this full day LIVE seminar conducted by a panel of top Management-Side Labor & Employment Attorneys, with the Chicago based law firm of SmithAmundsen LLC, attendees will receive real-life examples and up-to-date information that business owners, officers, managers and human resource professionals must have in 2015. Topics include the state of organized labor in the United States (including a local and regional perspective), how unions are “marketing” themselves to today’s workforce, assessing employer vulnerabilities to union organizing, effective employee communication programs, processes supervisors and managers should take in order to proactively manage the workforce, and the “ins and outs” of avoiding unfair labor practices.
