Jay Shattuck, Executive Director of the Employment Law Council, will give the details on what has changed in Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance in Illinois recently.

Last year the Illinois Chamber worked with the General Assembly and the Governor to address problems with Illinois’ workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance systems. Legislation in both arenas was enacted and improvements were made. For full effect of cost savings for employers in the state, several important provisions in each law were to be implemented by various state agencies.

Our webinar will provide an update as to implementation of the key changes by these agencies to Illinois’ workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance laws. You will learn about what progress has been made on issues like the new workers’ compensation preferred provider program (PPP) law and how the state will be combatting overpayments of unemployment insurance benefits.

In addition, we will discuss the Chamber’s  agenda for further improvements to these important Acts that impact the cost of doing business in our state.
