Immigration Policy, Politics, and the Presidential Election:
Prospects for U.S. Immigration Reform in 2017

With the U.S. elections around the corner, immigration is at the forefront of the political debate. While there’s widespread agreement that the U.S. immigration system is broken, a consensus has yet to emerge on measures to reform the system.

Fragomen attorneys Michael Turansick and Kevin Aiston will discuss the current state of the U.S. immigration system, the challenges faced by businesses and employers seeking to navigate the system, including quotas on high-skilled worker categories that are insufficient to meet current demand, the politics surrounding the immigration debate, and the prospects for reform post-election, including possible measures that might better meet the needs of employers and the business community and facilitate international trade and investment to promote economic growth.
