ENERGY COUNCIL MEMBERS ONLY

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce and its Energy Council will be teaming up with Prairie State to offer a unique tour of the new Prairie State coal-generated power plant on Thursday, October 13th in Marissa, Illinois. Prairie State is the newest coal plant in North America…..a 1,600 MW plant that is set to turn on its generating power this fall. This tour will be a wonderful opportunity to see what a state-of-the-art coal plant looks like.

No matter what your opinions are about coal-generated energy, you need to see how this plant and coal mine set the standard.

Email Tom Wolf to RSVP: twolf@ilchamber.org

Prairie State Energy Campus is a state-of-the-art mine mouth coal mine and power plant that will provide clean, low-cost electricity to 2.5 million families in 8 states by the end of 2012. Located in Washington County, Illinois, Prairie State Energy Campus will employ more than 500 people upon completion and has provided jobs for more than 4,000 trade laborers since the groundbreaking in 2007. With more than $1 billion invested in emissions controls, Prairie State Energy Campus will be the cleanest coal-fueled power plant in the nation and represents the future of coal.
