Invitation for Event

The Egypt-US Trade & Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) signed in 1999 continues to be the legal roadmap for trade and investment between the two countries. It provides favorable conditions for long term development and diversification of the US-Egypt economic partnership which amounts to $6.2bn in trade, the majority of which is American exports -such as heavy machinery, equipment and spare parts- to Egypt (4.8bn) and $21bn in US investment representing 32% of all American investment in Africa. Despite the political developments in the region since 2011, Egypt remains a solid partner of the United States and the new administration is committed to political and economic reforms to increase transparency and streamlining of bureaucracy. The government’s plans to invest heavily on energy, infrastructure, housing and food industry and to develop a mega industrial corridor on the Northern Easter bank of the Suez Canal will represent a window of opportunity for engineering, equipment firms, and those in the service industry.

Please join the IBC and Minister Darwish to learn more about these developments and the cutting edge technologies and operational practices that are being implemented to help speed the supply chain, remove constrains on trade and market potential of products.
