Chambers at Odds on Support

Two Illinois Republican governors have endorsed different candidates in the 102nd Illinois House race, and now the state chamber of commerce and the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce say they are supporting separate candidates in the same contest.

Former Gov. Jim Edgar is backing Ogden resident Jim Acklin in the race while current Gov. Bruce Rauner is solidly behind Shelbyville resident Brad Halbrook.

Now the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s political action committee is endorsing Halbrook for state representative.
